My awkward McDonald’s experience

Today, an awkward story to go along with the photo. This is a snap of the bag my food came in last night. It was a long day, being my third 12 hour day in a row, and day 5 of a 6 day work run. After running errands, I couldn’t be bothered to cook, so I clipped one of the coupons and drove to my neighbourhood McDonald’s.
When I got to the drive through, I was greeted by a guy through the box:
Him: “Welcome to McDonald’s, how are you today?”
Me: “Good thanks! How are you doing?”
There’s a pause, then a quiet and depressed: “Not so good actually…”
I freeze, surprised by the candidness. After an awkward pause I reply. “Well… I’m sorry to hear that. I hope things get better.”
Still depressed: “Yeah… thanks for asking. Can you hold on a moment?”
I agree to, and sit there waiting awkwardly, trying not to laugh at the situation. Then a girl comes on to take my order. And all the staff were female through the rest of my dealings.
So, not really sure what happened there, but a hilariously awkward moment that I just had to share.
